For his most recent work, Oceanen (The ocean), he received the Swedish Academy’s Nordic Prize, dubbed “the little Nobel,” in 2005 and the Literature Prize of the Nordic Council in 2006. Göran Sonnevi is one of Sweden's most highly esteemed modern poets. In 2006 he was awarded the Nordic Council's Literature Prize for Oceanen ( The Ocean ).
